The Opera Project, directed by international soprano Heidi Klassen, is proud to present Mozart’s masterpiece The Marriage of Figaro, in concert, Friday and Saturday, June 3-4, 2011 at 7:30 pm at the Canadian Memorial United Church, 15th at Burrard, Vancouver BC. Tickets will be available at the door for $20.00, and reservations can be made in advance by emailing info@theoperaproject.org.

Drawing on 30 years of international performing experience, Ms. Klassen now finds her calling in coaching a new generation of young Canadian opera singers through what can be a rocky transition to full-time professional singing, through OperaKlass, her vocal studio. Ms. Klassen’s passion for teaching voice has been a 35 year labor of love and in 1998 she formed The Opera Project, a charity that she brought to Vancouver with her move from Winnipeg seven years ago, which promotes talented artists to the stage. Along side a vibrant career she has directed 14 seasons of opera and concerts throughout Canada.

Beyond the music, Ms. Klassen strives to infuse into each OperaKlass concert her philosophy regarding the spiritual gifts of singing through the singers’ performances and the narration that accompanies each concert. “What a privilege to have such glorious access to our DIVINITY. Is there any thing that brings us and the listener to THE MYSTERY more graciously and more completely than MUSIC and even more so through the HUMAN VOICE?” Mozart’s divine
music in The Marriage of Figaro takes us beyond a fun filled plot of sexual intrigue to a portrait of the feminine spirit that is infused in both male and female, culminating in an offering of love and forgiveness that sheds light on humanity’s timeless solution.

The Opera Project, Heidi Klassen and OperaKlass invite you to experience the magic of the
divine in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, in concert, Friday and Saturday, June 3-4, 2011 at
7:30pm at the Canadian Memorial United Church, 15th at Burrard, Vancouver BC.
